small talk ; 12:35 AM
assalamuailaikum
you know how we always leave it to small talk to get the conversation going during a meeting with someone or a group of people or anything like it. even though some would prefer to remain silent , but to each his own.
i would usually opt for the small talk option on most occasions
but apparently i avoid having the chit chat sessions with cab drivers especially when im alone in the cab. i dont understand why, because as everyone would have known, cab drivers do know their stuff, in fact they do have ample of knowledge about topics like politics, the young vs old generation and .. almost anything you can actually think of, thus u can learn a whole lot from them within a few mins ride. worth your money.
but i get really silent in cabs and only make the polite laughter and occasional acknowledgment grunts. the only time i remembered having a conversation with them was this one time when i went home from camp to get some stuff and that was it. i remembered it being a good convo about how now housewives prefer to work part-time and him asking my opinion on that.
maybe it is the fact that i dont get the full frontal face to face convo with him but he gets to do so, with the help of the mirrors. he can see me but i can only see ..his head?
and i have had this weird experience once , the driver turned to me and let go of the steering wheel and asked me " how.. scared or not? " .. that freaked me out but i got over it.. because apparently he just wanted to make a joke or something.
i just thought that today's cab to fidah's place is worth mentioning thus leading to this entry. 4pm at sembawang?
but but but my fave cab rides would def be the night rides and the driver tuned in to class 95.."uncle turn left and go straight right to the end" and i remembered how the songs on the radio would coincide with how i felt for that night. lovely.
